Sotiris Riniou a.k.a. liquid light is an electronica artist from Greece.He started studying piano and keyboards at the age of eleven,after being seduced by the sureal electronic soundscapes of early electronica pioneers and the groove construction of world music and early old-school electro.The multi layered rhythms of tribal and world music,the mediterranean deepness surrounding him,and the solid grooves of funk and soul defined his sound that years later was expressed through his first projects ”red vision” a 4-track deep/tech house vinyl ep on uk’s UTC records and ‘’spinnin springtime” a progy 12” vinyl single on german label Soundsgood records,in 2001.They received great support from the underground dance community,and secured him his first dj gigs outside his hometown of Rhodes.He was invited to play at the legendary then club U-matic in Athens,a 1000-people capacity techno club hosting events from the biggest international names as well as many national headliners.The night ended up to be a big success,and other nights followed,in U-matic as well as other venues around Greece in the forms of residencies or guest appearances.Other releases from Liquid Light have followed in labels like soundsgood [Germany], Presslab [Italy],Heavy traxx [USA], Cubic[UK] blue bass records [Greece], and others.
As a musician,producer and dj,having a diverse and flexible musical attitude has passed through different sectors of dance music,like world music,funk,latin,house and techno.All these influences have merged into an electronic dance hybrid with a colorful rich groove that reflects in his production work as well in live and dj sessions.
In 2005 he started blue bass records.The first release ”liquid light-loverise” has been supported by well respected djs,magazines and radio stations around the world like Laurent Garnier,Tony Thomas,Dave Mothersole,London KISS Fm, dj magazine , and many more,placing Blue Bass Records on the underground dance map . Other releases from Sotiris have been supported by Hernan Cattaneo,Antony Pappa,and many others.
Ο Σωτήρης Ρηνίου [liquid light] είναι ένας καλλιτέχνης της electronica από την Ελλάδα.Η πρώτη του επαφή με την μουσική ήταν στην ηλικία έντεκα ετών,όταν άρχισε σπουδές πιάνου και αρμόνιου,γιά να παραπλανηθεί σύντομα από τα σουρεαλιστικά ηλεκτρονικά ηχοτοπία των πρωτοπόρων της ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής. Οι πολυρυθμικές βάσεις του tribal και της world music, το μεσογειακό βάθος που τον περιβάλλουν και οι στέρεες ρυθμικές βάσεις του funk και της soul καθόρισαν τον ήχο που χρόνια αργότερα εκφράστηκε μέσω των πρώτων δισκογραφικών παραγωγών του το «red vision» ένα deep/tech house ep στην βρετανική UTC και το spinnin springtime» ένα maxi single βινυλίου στη γερμανική Soundsgood το 2001.Και τα δύο έτυχαν μεγάλης υποστήριξης από την ηλεκτρονική χορευτική σκηνή , και ακολούθησαν dj gigs σε clubs όπως umatic,luv,και πολλά άλλα σαν guest η resident. Άλλες κυκλοφορίες από τον Σωτήρη ακολούθησαν σε εταιρίες όπως soundsgood [Γερμανία], Presslab [Ιταλία], heavy traxx [ΗΠΑ], cubic [UK] blue bass [Ελλάδα], και άλλα.
Σαν μουσικός, παραγωγός και dj, έχει μια διαφορετική και εύκαμπτη μουσική τοποθέτηση έχοντας περάσει μέσα από διαφορετικούς τομείς της χορευτικής μουσικής, όπως world music, funk,latin,house και techno. Όλες αυτές οι επιρροές έχουν συγχωνεύτει σε ένα ηλεκτρονικό dance υβρίδιο με ένα ζωηρό χρώμα που απεικονίζεται τόσο στις παραγωγές του όσο και στις dj/live εμφανίσεις.
Το 2005 ξεκίνησε τη blue bass. Η πρώτη κυκλοφορία «liquid light-loverise» υποστηρίχθηκε από djs, περιοδικά και ραδιοσταθμούς σε όλο τον κόσμο όπως ο Laurent Garnier, Tony Thomas, Dave Mothersole, KISS Fm του Λονδίνου, dj magazine, και πολύ άλλοι, τοποθετόντας τη blue bass στον χάρτη της ηλεκτρονικής σκηνής . Άλλες παραγωγές από το Σωτήρη έχουν υποστηριχθεί από Hernan Cattaneo,Antony Pappa,Dubfire,Chloe Harris,Dirty Vegas και πολλούς άλλους.
